Epiphytism
Solo show, photography and video-performance installation, various sizes, 2016.
In this work, I explore the relationship between body, nature and ground.
In gentle motion, as part of an unfamiliar ritual, I express the gravitational force employed on the body. Either in their natural habitat or as foreigners, the organisms created in the work move in relation to gravity, which draws the mass down, towards the earth.
"Epiphyte, an air plant… is a plant that grows on another plant without becoming a parasite and without having biological interaction with it, but only using it for psychical support."The carrying plant serves as a kind of platform for the epiphyte, whose roots never touch the ground."
